Business Intelligence Analyst

The role

MarketFinance has helped thousands of small businesses bridge the gap between completing orders and waiting to collect buyer payments. Since launch, we've handled over £30 billion in B2B payments and advanced £3 billion in funding. Increasingly, B2B transactions are going digital, and we are very well-placed to help various platforms with this transition. In line with this market trend, we are now creating an Embedded Finance offering which integrates our product set into third-party ecosystems.

You will be the BI Analyst in a new multidisciplinary squad, focused on Embedded Finance, whilst also being part of a wider, well established Data team. Your role will encompass a variety of work streams, mainly focused on forward-looking strategy and analysis of new opportunities including new product discovery, launches and new markets analysis.

The ideal candidate is someone who can communicate effectively with stakeholders, understand business problems and deliver actionable outputs through the power of data. You will be excited by the opportunity to build something from scratch and comfortable working with a high level of ambiguity, coming up with creative solutions to difficult problems. As the product scales, your role will evolve to deliver continuous improvements and support new functionality.

Responsibilities

• Partnering within squad members (including a Data Scientist, Head of Risk and Business Development team) dedicated to discovery and launch of new products and markets.
• Researching both conventional and unconventional data sources, producing insightful research and analysis and drawing conclusions and recommendations for new product development.
• Producing financial and credit analysis, building and maintaining financial models.
• Assessing unit economics and profitability and producing insightful scenario analysis.
• Ownership of regular reporting and data management for various pilot launches.
• Ongoing monitoring of the squad performance and KPIs.
• Great fit for someone excited about working on an early-stage product and being instrumental in funding product-market fit and facilitating successful execution of projects.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

• Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel / G suite.
• Experience with SQL, including knowledge on relational database systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a passion for metrics and data, and the ability to get into the details while seeing and understanding the bigger commercial picture.
• Organized and able to prioritize effectively, managing multiple work streams.
• Experience in setting up processes from scratch, highly adaptable to change.
• Data presentation and reporting skills that encompass clear, compelling communication.
• A flexible analytical approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision.

Desirable:

• Experience in Fintech, Credit or Payments, or B2B environments.
• Experience with any of the other tools in our Tech Stack (Looker, Azure, Python, Salesforce).
