MetaMap is on a mission to make trusting strangers online effortless. We want to enable builders in fast-growing, underserved regions with the digital identity and reputation tools they need to provide better trust-based services to more people.

We are looking for a Sr. Node.js Developer responsible for managing the data interchange between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be developing all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities

Development of completely new products.
Improvement of current products' SLAs.
Work closely with our AI team to integrate GPU-based networks (computer vision most of the time) into our system/products.
General architecture improvements to improve service scalability and SLAs.
Reorganize parts of the backend into highly scalable & isolated microservices components.

Skills

Proficiency in Node.js.
Proficiency with MongoDB, Redis.
Experience in developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience with VCS, Git.
Experience in functional testing (Jest, Mocha frameworks).
Experience with TypeScript.
Love for writing code and solving problems with the software.
Willingness to create the best user experience possible in the products you build.
Experience in building well-tested web applications from the ground up that customers have used.
Can be based in any Russian or CIS region at least part-time, given our team presence there.

Bonus:

Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka.
Experience with non-functional testing.
Experience with molecular microservice's framework.
Experience with SQL databases.
CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
Experience with React + Redux.
